Homeowners stuck in foreclosure limbo

I thought that the brunt of the foreclosures would be over by now. At least it seems to have come to a stop in several parts of the country already. This headline however indicates the opposite and I am getting kind of confused by all these mixed signals.

The housing market is still presenting a wide array of choices for those wanting to buy a home of their own. It would probably be wise to do so now, while the getting is still good. They don't have to worry where to get materials and equipment for a renovation. Many businesses are subscribed to new homeowner lists and will send them all the info they need by e-mail.

Even though many people might consider this spam, it is very useful and comes in handy at times. Suppose you just started a business then you can kill two birds with one stone. You might find all you need through the e-mails sent to you, but you could obtain business mailing lists yourself as well, to target a specific audience and sell your product or services.

I don't like my inbox being filled up with all kinds of irrelevant e-mails and I wonder why some businesses and services still think this will do the trick. It totally defeats the purpose and the mail ends up being deleted without even being read. It is a waste of everyone's time and their money as well.

I have no problem being on direct mailing lists for products we either buy online or in the store. I actually found it to be very helpful, receiving constant updates on new developments, new products and discounts. Those are the e-mails I can appreciate and like to receive and I question why it can not always be that way.

It could well be that those businesses and services don't know where to get a good list. Maybe we ought to send them an e-mail!
