Phoenix, Arizona - Special

One particular thing that I would like to pay some special attention to is all the mining that is going on in and around Phoenix. A large number of minerals as well as gold, copper etc. has and still is found here and all can be admired in the Mining and Mineral Museum.

The beauty however is that you can do some gold panning and 'mining' yourself. There are certain areas where you can try to find some of the minerals yourself and are allowed to keep them as well. Should you be interested in this, then make good inquiries in what areas you are permitted to do so.

That makes your vacation even more worth while; you could not only end up with some fond memories, but with some gems as well.
