Cruise Deals Abound This Winter
For a long time cruises have only been affordable to the wealthy and prestigious, but that has changed a lot over the years. Nowadays, anyone can find a cruise that fits their budget and the prices keep getting lower and lower.
Even the capacity of the cruise ships has been changing over time. I just read that a super cruiser is going to be launched and will make it's first trip on December 5th, 2009. The ship is called the 'Oasis of the Seas' and is the largest cruise ship that has ever plowed through the waters.
A few tidbits about this ship:
it can carry 5,400 passengers and 2,100 crew members, has 16 different passenger decks, 24 elevators, 21 swimming pools and whirlpools and offers lots of different entertainment and dining choices. You can even take a stroll in a park, since it has over ten thousand plants, many vine plants and 56 trees and bamboo, some growing over 24 feet high, on board.
There are several more new ships being launched by several other cruise lines. In case you rather spend some time on a smaller boat with less people, no problem. Those can easily be found as well and a search online may give you some direction.
I read however that it is not recommended to book online though. Many discounts and best deals can be obtained through travel agents. Agents have also more knowledge when it comes to information about the cabins, the quality of the food and what kind of entertainment is being offered.
So, when you are planning on going on a cruise then make good inquiries before booking; it can save you a pretty penny!
