Invisible Treehouse Harads, Sweden
If you didn't know it, you would completely overlook this accommodation; because of its reflecting surface it blends in with the environment. This 'Treehotel, located about 40 miles south of the Arctic Circle in Harads, Sweden, consists of 6 units/rooms for a nice and unique getaway.
Just one hour drive from Luleå, the largest airport in northern Sweden, surrounded by lakes and forests, these tree houses are large enough to accommodate two people.
These 12 ft x 12 ft x12 ft lightweight aluminum shelters are built around the trunk of a tree. Inside, you will find a large bed, a small kitchenette, bath, a living room and roof terrace and a 360 degree view unfolds before your eyes through the windows. Our little feathered friends will not fly into the windows, because transparent stickers, which are only visible to birds, will be added to the facades.
You do need to be mobile though, because your dwelling is only accessible by rope ladder or rope bridge.
During summer and autumn you can enjoy outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, horse riding, fishing, cross-country running, kayaking and canoeing. Winter and spring activities include: husky sled safari, snowshoeing, snug sleigh ride, speed sensation-skijoring behind a horse, ice-fishing and skiing.
If you go during winter and spring, be sure to bring warm clothing because the temperature can plummet below 25 degrees and I couldn't find anything on how they intend to heat these tree houses. I suppose you better ask when making reservations.
