Oregon Trail Wagon Train Campground, Bayard, Nebraska Part 2
When you decide to stay at the Oregon Trail Wagon Train Campground in Bayard, Nebraska, you have another option to explore the area and that is through a Wagon Trek. You can really soak up the history and life of those pioneers by filling their shoes for 24 hours of being out and about on the Nebraska prairies as part of wagon train. These Wagon Treks are held during the months of June, July and August and cost $200.00 per adult and $175.00 for children younger then 12 years of age.
In case those wagon tours are not appealing then you can always rent a canoe and explore the North Platte River. There is no doubt in my mind though that everyone will be looking forward to the evenings when a pioneer-worthy dinner of steak, potatoes and vegetables is cooked on and served around a campfire.
If that is music to your ears then you certainly would enjoy a Chuck Wagon Cook Out. These are held every night during summer and indoors during winter season, include a covered wagon history tour of the Oregon Trail, a delicious meal prepared over an open wood fire, and old-fashioned campfire entertainment.
Keep in mind that you need to make reservations no matter what activity you want to get engaged in, or which covered wagon tour you like to experience. The Oregon Trail Wagon Train Campground is absolutely worthy of a visit and will exceed your expectations!
