Accommodations At Easter Island, Chile

Even though Easter Island is not that large and can probably be explored in a day, you may want to plan on staying for a little bit longer and soak up the placid atmosphere of the environment.

There are several options concerning accommodations in Hanga Roa and you have the choice between a resort, several guest houses and hotels (although the latter much resemble the guest houses with the exception that they have a restaurant), and a campground.

The only public campground is Mihinoa and is located at Anakena beach and sits on the cliffs. The sites are fairly cheap $14 per person per night, whether you rent a tent with mattress and sleeping bag, or pitch one and use your own equipment. If you decide to stay for three nights or more you pay a few dollars less.

You will find picnic tables, toilets, showers and barbeque pits here, but no electricity and it is recommended to either bring your own food and water, or purchase these on site. You do have access to a fully equipped kitchen which does have electricity and laundry services are available at extra but little costs.

Valuables can be stored in the owners' safe and for just as little as $4 you can charge cell phones, laptops, etc., while another $10 buys you WiFi for the duration of your entire stay.

If you rather prefer a room over a tent then that can be arranged. You have the choice between several different rooms and the prices range from $16 to $62 depending which room you choose and/or prefer. Ensure to make reservation by e-mail, since both the rooms and campsites go fast.

The campground owners will pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodations. Yes, service and friendliness go hand in hand at Easter Island!
