Sunnylands, Rancho Mirage, California

If you like to see something else, you ought to visit Sunnylands, located at Rancho Mirage, just outside of Palm Springs in California.

This is not your average, must-see abode which you would be visiting; it is specifically designated for and used by Presidents of the United States, the Secretary of State, the Cabinet, the Supreme Court, the bipartisan leadership of the Congress, leaders of major educational and charitable institutions, government agencies, and other important public bodies, who have all stayed, met, conferred and made agreements here.

It also facilitates and hosts programs for schools and other charitable or educational institutions, philanthropy, arts and culture, science and medicine, The Annenberg Foundation and educates the public about Sunnylands' historical significance. Some of the celebrities who have already stayed here are the British royal family, Frank Sinatra and seven presidents of the United States.

This gorgeous estate was built in the 1960s and belongs to Walter and Leonore Annenberg. Walter Annenberg is known as the creator of TV Guide and Seventeen magazine, used to be the United States ambassador to the United Kingdom, and is a well known philanthropist.

Sunnylands is set on 200 acres and surrounded by a beautifully designed landscape which, just like the house, is more then worthy of a visit. It has eleven lakes, a 9-hole golf course, swimming pools, exhibits, an amazing interior design and many more attractions to keep you pleasantly busy, occupied and in awe.

This sure is a nice outing, although you may not be able to use of all its amenities; it is mainly to tour the estate and it may not be something you can do with the entire family either, as you are about to find out soon!
