Taal Lake, Philippines, Part 2

A much safer and just as enjoyable way of taking in all Taal Lake has got to offer is by driving along the Tagaytay-Taal ridge in nearby Tagaytay City, spend a little time in one of the restaurants which offer a breathtaking view of Taal Volcano, or stay at one of the accommodations that offer some of the best views of Taal Lake.

There is no lack of accommodations around Taal Lake and Taal Volcano and although they offer some wonderful sights of this gorgeous environment, you will find that most of them are very reasonably priced.

The lake is home to many different and rare species of fish that have evolved over time and adapted from saltine to freshwater conditions. Unfortunately, over-fishing and pollution have taken its toll on the fish populations which has diminished greatly.

This doesn't take anything away of the incredible scenery and there are several resorts situated on the shore of the lake which also offer spa treatments with water from the lake.

The latter is considered to have healing abilities due to the rich concentrations of minerals and salts. Swimming however is not advised since the water also contains sulfuric acid, boron, sodium, aluminum and magnesium from volcanic activity.

When visiting the Philippines, don't miss out on the opportunity to see this lake and the volcano and taste the serenity, peace, and calmness of this natural wonder!
