To Be Or Not To Be At Risk
This post brought to you by LifeLock Twitter. All opinions are 100% mine.
There you are; enjoying a nice vacation, paying your way through online banking and your smart phone and suddenly discover that your identity got stolen, leaving you with a bad credit score, huge debts and your life in shambles.
You would have been protected against identity theft the moment it happened if you had taken due note of the hints, tips, and information from LifeLock on Twitter and if you had taken advantage of Lifelock's services.
LifeLock is today's leader in the world of identity theft protection and information. It provides its customers with top of the line identity theft protection through a suite of services backed by state-of-the-art technology and information on all aspects of identity theft and threats.
We have escaped it so far, but I was stunned learning how households earning $100k + per year have the highest identity fraud rate at 7.4% and that the average cost per person of having identities stolen is $1,513. I had no idea 11.6 million adults were victims of identity fraud in 2011 and a total of $18 billion was lost.
It was even more horrifying finding out that of all the victims 6.6% are smart phone owners, 6.8% are social media users who click on the applications, 8.2% are social media users who have 'checked in' using their smart phone GPS, and 10.1% of victims are LinkedIn users.
That is not all; How hack-friendly is your password? Were you aware of the fact that a professional hacker can get a hold of a 6 character password without a symbol in .000224 seconds, but it will take him/her 20 days to retrieve a password consisting of 10 characters and one symbol?
That is something to take in account when it comes to online banking, personal information, and your overall privacy, because you will suffer the consequences of identity theft for the majority of the rest of your life. Do you feel you are protected against identity theft?
If you and your family want to live comfortably, safe, and secure with the knowledge that someone has got your back and protects you against identity fraud then LifeLock's services are a must.
I sure would like to hear your thoughts and experiences on the necessity of identity protection and you can share those by leaving a comment on this post.
Why put yourself at risk when Lifelock is there to protect you?!
