Tree Pod Dining, Koh Kood, Thailand

Towering 16 feet high in the air, above the tops of the palm trees, overlooking the beach and the crystal-clear, cobalt waters of the island, is not exactly where you would expect to find a restaurant.

Tree Pod Dining, which is located at the Soneva Kiri resort in Koh Kood, Thailand, offers the unique experience for guests to have a quiet, peaceful meal served in wicker pods which can seat up to four people. Don't worry; the pods are constructed from a steel frame covered in woven rattan and strong enough to hold all the weight necessary and even then some.

The pods not only resemble a bird's nest, but will also give you a bird's eye view of the environment and let you find out for yourself what it is like to be fed so high up in the air, because your food and drinks will be served by waiters on zip-lines who are hoisted up and down.

Yup, that is the same way you will be able to take your seats and enjoy the exclusive, gourmet dishes on the menu, and also the only way to exit or to find your way to the bathroom. This one of a kind restaurant is open all year around, but it is recommendable to book well in advance.

You know the expression; the early bird catches the worm!
