Hotel Playa Blanca Facts, Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

I tried to furnish you with some prices for the accommodations at hotel Playa Blanca in Bolivia, but it so turns out that a stay at this hotel is usually part of a tour and included in a package. The only advice I can give you is to check with several tour operators before booking, since the prices can vary substantially.

One of the other things you may want to keep in mind is the time of year you plan your visit. There is a rainy season during the months of December through March. It will cover the Salar de Uyuni with a thin layer of water, turning it into a mirror with uncanny reflections, but it is also the time of construction; the walls of the hotel are being strengthened with new blocks of salt.

Don't forget to pack warm apparel. The temperatures in this location may be around an agreeable 70 °F from November through January, but the nights are extremely cold throughout the entire year with temperatures ranging from 16 to 41 °F.

There is one more fact you have to keep in mind and adhere to when staying in this hotel: you are not allowed to lick the walls or furniture. This request is made by the hotel owners to prevent the hotel from deteriorating and it will also prevent your blood pressure from shooting through the roof!
