Activities On Solid Ground At Biminis, Bahamas

There are plenty of enjoyable activities on land to keep you occupied where the Biminis are concerned. Watching the enormous variety of birds is one of them, but there are many more options.

Located on North Bimini are The Dolphin House Museum, Bimini Museum, and the must-see and experience King’s Highway in Alice Town. It is also on this island, within the mangrove swamp, where you will find the Healing Hole; a pool which is constantly replenished with fresh, mineral-containing water.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to visit the Compleat Angler Hotel where Ernest Hemingway resided from 1935 to 1937. The hotel, which also functioned as an Ernest Hemingway Museum, burned down in 2006.

Stay forever young by visiting the Fountain of Youth on South Bimini and get a glimpse of what is believed to be the Lost City of Atlantis. Tour the Bimini Nature Trail and take the opportunity to handle native animals and a snake which can only found here; the Bimini Boa.

Other interesting sites are the Bimini Biological Field Station or Shark Lab as it is also called and the Bimini Sands Kid's Club. This first is a worldwide renowned facility specializing in shark research and conservation of the ocean's ecosystem and at the latter children are educated on the unique flora and fauna of the Biminis.

You don't have to worry about where to stay. There are more then enough hotels, motels, cottages, B&Bs, resorts, inns, and other types of lodging available. As far as your meals are concerned; restaurants galore offering diversity in menus and catering to any budget.

It is hard to imagine that such a leisurely, relaxing lifestyle can be found so close to home!
