Food And Drinks: Cheap And Easy Camping Tips

When planning a camping trip, there are many easy and cheap solutions as far as food and drinks go. You can save some money by bringing your own and it doesn't have to be very space-consuming.

Your camping trip sure doesn't have to turn out bland. You can spice it up by saving empty Tic-Tac boxes and using them as storage for your favorite spices. These small containers don't require much space and hold enough to last you for quite a while.

Make your own travel coffee bags by putting a scoop of ground coffee into a coffee filter. Tie it up with dental floss and when ready, use it like you would a teabag. Another option is to bring single-cup packages of coffee which can be bought in the stores.

You most certainly can bring cheese along without the need for a fridge. Ensure though those are hard cheeses or cheeses packaged in wax. Those can go for about a week without having to be kept cool. Aged cheddar, Parmesan, or Gruyere are good options.

I came across this great tip that serves two goals: freezing gallon jugs of water. The frozen jugs can be used to keep your food cool during the travel and, once thawed, provide you with plenty of fresh drinking water.

The same can be done with orange juice, ice-tea, pasta sauce, and more. There is no doubt in my mind you can come up with several other items which can be frozen and brought along. Please, share. Many campers could and would benefit from your tips. Survivalists are the proverbial exceptions of course.

Mother Nature is one huge grocery store to them!
