Visiting Alabama? Prevent Mosquito Bites!

Many of you have already arrived at or are may be heading towards the Gulf Coast. I can't blame you. The gorgeous white, sandy beaches in combination with amazing ocean views are extremely inviting and offer plenty of opportunities to find some relief from the blistering heat.

There is one downside to that however and you need to be aware of it: the mosquitoes. You probably don't think much of those pesky insects since they can be found and will find you everywhere, but you better protect yourself and prevent any mosquito bites.

The Triple E virus is transmitted through and by these critters and several cases of this potential deadly virus have already been diagnosed in Alabama. The virus causes symptoms which resemble the flu such as a temperature, fatigue, nausea, headache, drowsiness, or even a coma.

Most of these symptoms occur between 4 to 10 days after the mosquito bite and there is no cure for it. Be aware and see a doctor if you display any of these symptoms and are not sure whether it is the flu or not.

Healthy individuals may not experience any symptoms at all. It mainly affects the elderly, young children, and those with a weak immune system. The best thing to do is to cover up with protective apparel and/or royally apply insect repellant.

When you heed the warning, you can relax and fully enjoy Alabama the Beautiful!
