Hiking: Cheap And Easy Tips

If you like to go for a hike, you probably already know to bring plenty of water and some food with you. You want to bring food that is light-weight and doesn't take up much space. How about sandwich bread in a can?

You can easily make that yourself by mixing 1 cup warm water, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 slightly beaten egg, a pinch of salt, 1/4 cup finely minced sun-dried tomatoes, 1/3 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 2 cups all purpose flour, and 1 tablespoon of yeast together.

Divide the dough over two, greased cans, cover them and let it rise for about an hour. Place the cans in a cold oven, turn the temperature to 400 degrees and bake for 15 minutes. Turn the heat down to 350 degrees for another 15 minutes and this nutritious, filling bread is done.

Even though it may have occurred during your lifetime that several people have given you the advice to get lost, you sure don't want that to happen and you don't have to.

There is biodegradable marking tape available in different colors which will clearly mark your trail and allow you to easily retrace your steps and find your way back.

It also ensures that in case something happens to you, rescuers will be able to locate and get you out much quicker. That should be a comforting thought. So, remember to bring the marking tape.

Don't leave home or tent without it!
