The Rolling Hills Of Napa Valley

I suspect when mentioning California, most people get visions of relaxing vacations filled with sun, sea, and beaches. It is also automatically associated with being the main residence for movie stars, and the film industry.

All of the above is true, but what might strike you when touring this state are the many acres of rolling hills, planted with vines. That shouldn't come as a surprise, because California's climate is ideal for growing grapes.

The latter has resulted in California being the largest wine producing state in the United States. You will find about 200 different wineries here of which most are located in Napa Valley.

An interesting fact is that this is also the second, most visited tourist destination in the country. If you plan on vacationing in California then don't neglect to take a tour and soak in some of the majestic views these vineyards have to offer.

Growing grapes may seem easy, but in order to ensure a good crop, precautions may have to be taken. It is not uncommon to see bird netting for vineyards which protect the fruit from unwanted gluttons such as warblers, jays, mockingbirds, and finches for instance.

This environmental and animal friendly solution doesn't spoil the view one bit. On the contrary; it makes the tour even more interesting. It provides food for thought and conversation!
