Haunted Places: Sleepy Hollow, New York

Who hasn't heard of the town of Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman?

Those of you who think it is only fiction will be highly surprised to learn there really is a Sleepy Hollow and it is located in New York.

Most of the 'horrific' events take place in Philipsburg Manor. For the third year in a row this mansion and its surroundings are transformed into a world where creepy inhabitants rule the darkness.

You can follow a haunted trail with scary scenes and terrifying creatures and make your way out of a twisted maze filled with horror. The goal is to reach the Headless Horseman's lair for a rather unusual party.

I have to warn you though: it is not suitable for those who experience claustrophobia, have heart problems, seizures, or other severe health conditions. It is recommended for age 10 and up. So, don't bring young children!

The entire event is handicap-friendly, but keep in mind there still has a lot of walking to be done to concur and overcome all these scary situations. The tickets for this event cost $25 on a Saturday and $20 on other days. Members will receive a $5 discount.

If you are not one of the faint-hearted and are looking to be scared out of your wits this Halloween, then this is one route you should not forego. It is as creepy and frightening as it can get. Be warned and scared.

Very scared!
