The Bird´s Nest, Harads, Sweden

I have come across some unique and often weird looking accommodations, but not one like the Bird´s Nest.

This hotel room sure lives up to its name and can be found in the small village of Harads, which is located in Sweden.

One would expect some giant bird built its nest in the trees, but the 183 square feet room offers enough space for a family with two children.

The separate bedrooms, bathroom, and living room are accessible by a staircase which can be retracted and once inside, the branches disguising the windows ensure you become part of the environment.

A stay in the Bird's Nest will cost $686 for two persons per night and $515 for one person. For $133 a night you can have an extra adult stay there and you will pay an additional $70 for an extra child. Children between the age of 0 and 2 are free.

The prices include VAT and a buffet breakfast which is served at Britta’s pensionat. This unique room is part of the Treehotel which has about 8 to 10 tree rooms to choose from. Each one is uniquely designed and gives you a spectacular view on the Lule River valley.

If you are looking for a serene, relaxing, down to earth getaway, this is definitely worth looking into. Let me correct that; it is not that down to earth. It is 12 to 18 feet above the ground!

Audrey,
Yes, I know and I saw how that 'delicacy' is harvested and served up. I can't say it raised my appetite, haha.

I suppose I won't know until I try. :-)

God's Grace.
