A Free Visit To The Zoo

You may not want to stay home this Thanksgiving Day and are planning on taking the family out on a trip. You sure don't have to look far since there are many events taking place on this Holiday.

Parades are mainly coming to mind and don't cost much, but how about a free visit to the Zoo? No, that is not a typo: the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo located in Ohio doesn't charge any admission on Thanksgiving Day, no matter how large your family is.

The visiting hours for this 165-acre Zoo are between 10am and 5pm. Aside from admiring and learning about all the different animals, you can also attend some of the demonstrations and watch special treats being handed out to the inhabitants of the Zoo.

There is a Thanksgiving Feeding Schedule available which you can find on the Zoo's website, but I have no doubt they are more then happy to provide you with one when you ask for it on site.

It will take several hours to see all the animals, but you don't have to be on your feet all the time, because there is heated transportation throughout the Zoo. No, you don't have to pay for that either. This complimentary service is always available, no matter when you visit.

The free admission isn't though. You normally pay $12.25 per adult and $8.25 for children age 2-11 during the months of April through October, and $8.25 for an adult plus $5.25 for a youngster from November through March. Children under the age of 2 enter for free.

That sure sounds like a fun-filled outing for the entire family. If you hadn't made any plans yet, there is still enough time to talk turkey by bringing this idea to the table!
